By: Livewire It is estimated that one in six people in the UK are living with a specific learning difficulty. Over the years, Dore has successfully worked with thousands of people, of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the world. The Dore Programme exercises, aimed at people with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), aim to improve the efficiency of cerebellar function. The cerebellum is the part of the brain which some researchers believe plays a major role in learning and helps to make skills such as reading and writing more automatic. The programme has already been implemented in three schools in the UK. Isabelle Goursaud, Assistant Headteacher responsible for Inclusion, at Bishop Douglass School in London, says: “Parents have commented very positively about their child’s participation in the Dore Programme; they have noted the progress of their child in the areas of organisation and confidence and reported the impact on their child’s performance at school”. Trystan Williams, Headteacher at Springfields School in Calne, enthuses: “The transformation in the pupils’ ability to learn has massively exceeded our expectations. The Dore Programme is now at the forefront of our menu of intervention to ensure outstanding pupil progress”. Crishni Waring, Managing Director at Dore, adds: “We are extremely excited to be attending The Education Show to bring to life the ways in which the Dore Programme can work with schools and pupils with Special Educational Needs.” “Following the government announcement that the level of the pupil premium is increasing to £600 per pupil, there has never been a better time to consider the Dore Programme for pupils with Special Educational Needs.” Members of the Dore team will be on the stand at the show to discuss the ways in which the Programme can work in a school environment and demonstrate sample exercises.
