Dore showcases personalised exercise programme for pupils with learning difficulties

Feb. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- The Dore team will be on stand D73 at The Education Show to demonstrate how its  Programme for children with learning difficulties works within schools. The Dore Programme (www.dore.co.uk) involves a detailed initial assessment, which includes a consultation with a doctor, to establish whether the Programme is suitable. Participants are then given an individualised programme of balancing and eye tracking exercises, lasting 12 to 18 months. The exercises are carried out under supervision for 10 minutes twice a day at school and with the support of parents at home.

It is estimated that one in six people in the UK are living with a specific learning difficulty. Over the years, Dore has successfully worked with thousands of people, of all ages and backgrounds, from all over the world. The Dore Programme exercises, aimed at people with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), aim to improve the efficiency of cerebellar function. The cerebellum is the part of the brain which some researchers believe plays a major role in learning and helps to make skills such as reading and writing more automatic. The programme has already been implemented in three schools in the UK.
