Follow on Google News | Sussex author makes publishing historyA novel by a Lewes author is set to change the face of book publishing all over the world by becoming the first book to be sponsored by advertising since the nineteenth century.
By: PRHQ public relations The novel, produced by Sussex-based Mithra Publishing, was last week approved by Amazon for world-wide distribution. Choices is described as a game-changer for the publishing industry as it offers businesses the opportunity to use books as an advertising medium. This is the first time this has been available since the mid-nineteenth century when Charles Dickens pioneered advertising sponsored publishing. A spokseman for Mithra Publishing, said: “Teresa Hamilton has made history with her book. With the growth in ebooks all over the world, and the potential provided by the internet, interactive advertising in books is a natural evolution rather than a revolution. “By allowing advertisers to use books as a way of talking to potential customers, we are able to share the cost of book production and, subsequently, commit to giving more writers the opportunity to have their work published. The reader also gets targeted ads that are relevant to their area of interest. Everyone wins. In the years to come, all books will be supported by advertising but the first one was written by a mother and first time author from Lewes.” Choices is available here on Amazon at: http://www.amazon.co.uk/ Mithra Publishing: http://www.mithrapublishing.com/ End
