To support growth NJAWBO holds a Business & Procurement Expo each year, the 2012 event will be held on April 19th, 2012 at the Pines Manor, Edison NJ. This event draws Business Owners, Corporations, Government Agencies from all over the metro area.

Change Brings Opportunity: Will You Be Ready?
14th Annual Business & Procurement Expo
April 19, 2012 – 8:00 to 2:30 pm – Pines Manor, Edison, NJ

Dedicated to supporting the growth of women-owned businesses, the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) announces its 14th Annual Business and Procurement Expo, to be held on April 19, 2012 at the Pines Manor in Edison NJ, from 8:00 am to 2:30 p.m. The keynote speaker, Joe Connolly, of WCBS Newsradio 880 and the Wall Street Journal Report, will address the attendees on “Finding Opportunity,” which fits in nicely with this year’s theme, Change Brings Opportunity: Will You Be Ready?

In addition, vendors will showcase their wares at the expo, which will run from 10:00 am to noon and from 1:30 to 2:30 pm, and a sit-down lunch will be held in between expo sessions, where attendees will be given the opportunity to have lunch with representatives from corporations, government agencies, and sponsors. There will also be workshops and training sessions held throughout the day.

Each year, this event draws business owners, corporations, government agencies, and sponsors from all over New Jersey and the surrounding states. The action-packed agenda will make attendance worth your while.

The day begins with registration and vendor setup from 8:00 to 9:00 am. Coffee, tea, juices, and light breakfast fare will be available during that time.

At 9:00 am, the WOW Panel Workshop, to be moderated by Caren Franzini, CEO of the NJ EDA will discuss the following two questions:

Will you be ready for the opportunities that present themselves
during these times of economic change?
Have you positioned yourself and your company for growth?

The WOW Panel will discuss these opportunities, their views on economic recovery, and basic concepts for building and maintaining relationships with these large companies. You will hear from representatives from big pharma, education, utility, transportation, and construction as they detail what they are doing and how you can participate in their growth. These organizations procure myriad goods and services that your business can provide, and they have committed to investing billions in capital expenditures!

At 10:45 am, a Marketing Workshop – ADVANCED SOCIAL MEDIA: How to Leverage the Top New Media Spaces, will be presented by Pattie Simone, Journalist, Entrepreneur, Profit Alchemist, and Viral Activist. She will present a fast-paced overview of advanced campaigns and strategies to leverage a variety of social platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and Google+. This advanced workshop will cover best practices, case studies, and tips for businesses with established new media marketing budgets.

Social Media "Shooters” – Mini training sessions will be offered to get you on your feet and well on your way to effective use of Social Media Tools.  Susana Fonticoba, Owner and Chief Entrepreneur Technology Specialist, Right Click Advantage has organized these sessions and La Shonda Tyree, Founder and President, Silk City Design will be facilitating the Facebook classes and Jackie Berman:  President, Pearls of Wisdom Media, LLC, the Twitter classes.

These Shooters come in two flavors—pick the one that’s right for you:
Facebook 101 – for those who need to start a new fan page
Facebook 201 – if you have the basics and want the next level

Twitter 101 – for those who need to open a new twitter account
Twitter 201 – if you’re tweeting away and want more functionality
