CareOne Says That They Have Been in Your Shoes. Really?

Founder of CareOne talks about how his experience with debt changed his personal and professional life forever.

Feb. 8, 2012 - PRLog -- CareOne Debt Relief Services, led by its founder, Bernie Dancel, has launched a marketing campaign that draws on his personal experience to help overcome the negative stereotype plaguing people who are seeking help with their debt.

At the age of 22, Dancel, who had a young family, filed for personal bankruptcy.  A divorce and the responsibility of supporting two households with one income were too much of a strain financially.  He didn’t know where to turn, so he contacted his lawyer whom he thought he could trust.  His lawyer recommended bankruptcy, and Dancel, unaware that he had options to pay off his debt, took the advice. Feeling like he had let the creditors and his family down, he trusted his attorney and filed for bankruptcy.

Bernie later discovered that bankruptcy was not his only option and it was this realization that changed his life and the lives of the millions of CareOne customers he has helped over the past 20 years.

Bernie founded the CareOne brand of debt relief services as a way to help others facing similar financial challenges.  CareOne offers multiple
options that allow customers to get control of their debt, and as a result, their lives.

The recent rebranding of CareOne Debt Relief Services reflects Bernie’s unique understanding of the lasting and emotionally damaging impact of debt.  The mission of CareOne is based on the premise that our customers are good people who have been put in a difficult situation, often because of factors beyond their control.

Bernie explains the premise of the new CareOne marketing effort, “I want people to see our TV spots, our online advertising, engage with us in our social media efforts and our website and know right away that we get it, we know what it feels like to be in debt and we can help in more ways than one.”

Bernie wanted to feature his employees and customers in the new creative by allowing them to share their personal stories of being in debt and how they were able to overcome it.  Dancel said; “Within CareOne employees have always had a safe environment where they could speak openly about their challenges and what it means to conquer debt.  This rebrand is about creating a safe environment for everybody struggling with debt.” He added, “At CareOne we firmly believe that debt does not make you a bad person, everybody deserves a second chance. That is what we do at CareOne; we are in the business of second chances.”

One employee featured on the website is Coach Tammy Bradford, a certified credit counselor and debt expert in the
CareOne online community.  As a debt expert, Tammy talks to customers everyday and loves that CareOne is opening up the conversation between employees and customers; “Debt, being in it or getting out of it is a part of who we are and it’s something we discuss openly as CareOne employees.” Tammy added, “We mean it when we say “we’ve been in your shoes,” because so many of us have. We really get what it feels like to struggle financially and we truly care about our customers. We want to them to know what success feels like and share in their joy.”

CareOne has committed a significant marketing budget in 2012 with a national marketing effort across all forms of traditional and new media.

CareOne Debt Relief Services is the nation’s largest provider of debt relief services with over 5 million people helped to date. We were created by Bernie Dancel, who was once in debt himself, and supported by many of our employees who have had their own struggles with debt and found a successful way out. It is this foundation of shared experience that sets us apart from the rest of the debt relief industry. We know what being in debt feels like, and more importantly, what it takes to get out.
