By: The Staff at Redneck World The magazine for blue-collar America goes digital. Jacksonville, FL, Dec. 9, 2011 - Redneck World magazine, founded in 2001 by Frank Fraser, began as little more than a local flyer, but quickly grew into a full-fledged magazine with distribution to over forty US states, and Canada. After Fraser's death in 2008, the magazine ceased publication. Now, three years later, Redneck World magazine has been reborn, as a free online publication, under the capable hands of business and advertising manager Lucy Fraser, graphics designer and webmaster Joni Griffith and publisher, editor and contributing writer Douglas Crouse. High-Tech Redneck? Not only has the staff had to face the realities of the high costs of conventional printing and distribution, but the changing publishing environment overall. Today, we see newspaper, magazine and book sales rapidly declining, while online subscriptions and sales of e-books have increased dramatically. Going digital was not only economically and logistically more feasible, but a decision based on the realities of changing technology and the dissemination of information and entertainment. But, Redneck World? Certainly, the term Redneck has had a lot of undeserved negative connotations, historically and culturally. Comedian Jeff Foxworthy changed all that. Yes, Foxworthy proudly proclaims himself to be a Redneck. He also holds an engineering degree, and worked for IBM. And he's built a lucrative career out of proving many of us might be Rednecks as well. Rednecks aren't stupid. They just have an aversion to pretension. A "glorious absence of sophistication," – more – A Little Redneck in All of Us? A Redneck is, by nature, immune to political correctness, and possesses an affinity for faith, patriotism and individual liberty. In a world of over-sensitivity, Rednecks are among the last segment of society who are comfortable laughing at others, with others, and at themselves. They're everything from carpenters and truck drivers to executives and doctors, but still hold dear the simple country way of life. Ever'thang Redneck From down-home humor to hard-hitting conservative commentary, features on up-and-coming bands and current events, to articles on catfish noodling and planting by the signs, Redneck World lives up to its goal of being "Ever'thang Redneck." The magazine features a lively mix of informative articles, cartoons, opinion and history. The content runs the gamut from tributes to such musical legends as Charlie Daniels and Hank Williams, Jr. to the humor of Lewis Grizzard, and new characters such as sassy octogenarian advice columnist Granny Reenchwater, easily-confused country sage Harry the Water Meter Reader Guy, and the grand old Southern journalist Mark Twang. Redneck World magazine has returned with a newly-designed website ( www.redneckworld.us ), and is published quarterly in digital format ( www.redneckworld.us/ Media Contact: Douglas Crouse, Editor Redneck World magazine 540-342-3167 editor@redneckworld.us # # # End
