Classical Guitarist, Michael Patilla, performs in the Historic Southern Cultural Heritage Auditorium

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation is delighted to welcome classical guitarist, Michael Patilla, in a special concert in the historic SCH Auditorium. The concert will be held on Friday, March 30th at 6:00pm.

Jan. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation is delighted to welcome classical guitarist, Michael Patilla, in a special concert in the historic SCH Auditorium.  The concert will be held on Friday, March 30th at 6:00pm.  Admission is $5/Adults and $2.50/for children 12 and under.  

Michael Patilla has presented numerous international performances and has been warmly received by audiences and critics.  He has performed as concerto soloist with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Eastman Chamber Orchestra, the Masterworks Festival Orchestra, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Honduras, the Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra, and the Starkville Symphony Orchestra, and has also been a featured performer at numerous festivals, such as City Stages, Crescendo Hungary, Piccolo Spoleto, the Tennessee Guitar Festival, and the Volos Winter Guitar Festival in Greece.  During last year’s concert season, he gave performances and master classes in England, Honduras, Hong Kong and France, in addition to several U.S. engagements.

Michael Patilla currently serves as an Associate Professor of Guitar at Mississippi State University and directs the guitar program for the Masterworks Festival, an international performing arts festival held each summer in Winona Lake, Indiana.  He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the Eastman School of Music and has additionally studied with such teachers as Manuel Barrueco, Nicholas Goluses, Julian Gray, Bruce Holzman, Paul O’Dette, and Raphaella Smits. Septiembre, his debut CD of music by South American composers, was released in 2005. His edition of new guitar works by Honduran composers will be published by Imagine Music in 2011.
