Chuma will be in conversation with local author Nigel Jenkins before reading excerpts from his new book. Nigel said ‘Chuma’s work is the best way of visiting Nigeria without actually going there. “These are superb stories, brimful of life, drama, humour, anger, satirical wit, compassion and a delight in language’. Jo Furber, Literature Officer at the Dylan Thomas Centre said “Against a background of corruption, the people in these stories get on with their lives and their loves as best they can. “Nwokolo draws back the curtain to reveal, with good use of humour, some of the darkest or quirkiest corners of contemporary life”. Chuma Nwokolo, who was born in 1963 and is a lawyer, writer and publisher, whose numerous books include Diaries of a Dead African, One More Tale for the Road, and Memories of Stone (poems).
