IP Law Firm Steps Up to Staff Down

Jan. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Klemchuk Kubasta LLP (KK LLP), a leading full-service intellectual property (IP) law firm, is giving a modern twist to the traditional role of receptionist. Eliminating the receptionist position and scheduling all non-attorney staff to serve one half-day shift every two weeks will allow the staff to get to know its clients and further understand and participate in the firm’s day-to-day operations.  

According to Darin M. Klemchuk, co-founder and senior partner of the firm, the KK LLP business model is based on three strategies: (1) providing unexpectedly good client service from a law firm, (2) creating a great place for great people to work, and (3) constantly innovating by questioning everything about how law firms traditionally operate.  “Having our staff take turns as ambassadors for the firm helps us achieve all three of these strategies,” he said.

“Our innovative philosophy allows staff who ordinarily wouldn’t have much client contact to now serve as a concierge for clients, visitors and teammates,” added Shannon Bates, hiring partner.  

With this structural change, the firm will continue to provide big firm service but with a warmer experience. In addition to better serving clients, this shift will also allow each staff member to become more familiar and integrated with the firm, and also have more exposure to each other.
