Jan. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- Art of the Olympians Museum and Gallery (AOTO) unveils insights and inspirations of great community leaders as well as Olympians, artists and philanthropists through a monthly series of intimate conversations called “Cultural Connections”. The series provides an arena for these leaders to share visions, accomplishments, and contributions to building a sense of community—either locally or globally.

Beginning on Thursday, February 2, AOTO will honor the leaders who are working to build greatness in culture and community and inspire generations. The first “Cultural Connection” provides a taste of France, as AOTO welcomes French Olympian Kader Klouchi to share his experiences as an Olympian and his perspectives on sport, art and culture.

Virtually self-taught in the field of athletics, Klouchi found himself gravitating to the sport of long jump. In 1992, he participated in the Olympic Games for Algeria in long jump. Klouchi is a two-time French National Record holder and a three-time World Champion.
Like many Olympian athletes, Klouchi transitioned his love of sport into a passion for the arts, particularly focused on the artistic beauty of action. With each stroke of acrylic on canvas, Klouchi captures his personal passion for sport and draws on his appreciation of the body’s movement as a work of art in all of its grace and beauty.

Cultural Connections will be held at 1300 Hendry Street, Fort Myers from 5:30- 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2. Tickets are $15 for members and $20 for non-members.  Seating is limited and advance ticket purchase is required. For more information on tickets, call 239- 332-5055.
