Barcode software package adds Java programming library for generating barcodes

Jan. 11, 2012 - PRLog -- ConnectCode, a leading provider of barcode software and fonts, today announced the release of a new version of ConnectCode Barcode Fonts (v8.1).  This new version adds a programming library in the Java platform to help third-party applications create professional quality barcodes.

The Java library allows the generation of over 23 types of commonly-used barcodes including:

The Java library also provides capabilities to generate check characters, add barcode Human Readable Text and validate input data to meet various industry specifications. It supports the Java Development Kit 1.6 (and onwards) and works out-of-the-box with Integrated Development Environments such as Netbeans and Eclipse.

The Java library uses the proven ConnectCode Barcode Fonts engine which is popular with many Fortune 500 companies. The engine neither depends heavily on the programming environment nor requires intensive graphics operations. Instead, a slight manipulation of existing text is usually sufficient to produce robust barcodes.

Moreover when a barcode font is printed, it rasters to the resolution of the printer and will not be limited to the resolution of the computer screen. This allows the highest quality barcodes that meet the strictest ISO requirements and specifications to be created.
ConnectCode Barcode Fonts are licensed flexibly as follows:

Allows the use of the Software by one user on one computer within the organization.

Enterprise Site License
Allows the use of the Software by any number of users on multiple computers within the organization.

Single Distribution License
Allows royalty-free distribution of the Software up to 10,000 users.

Unlimited Distribution License
Allows royalty-free, unlimited distribution of the Software.

The new version of ConnectCode Barcode Fonts also provides updates to the existing Excel formulas, Add-Ins, Crystal Reports Formulas, Oracle PL/SQL and Access formulas. The barcode fonts have also been further optimized on a wide variety of platforms and environments.
