Pete and Mac's Sponsors Donation Drive for Humane Society of Greater Kansas City

Jan. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- Humane Society of Greater Kansas City is holding a supplies donation drive from now through Super Bowl Sunday, Feb 5th, 2012, to support pet rescue efforts. Supply donations support the on-going care of pets in the shelter, allowing cash donations to be funneled toward veterinary bills or other shelter operations costs.

Humane Society of Greater Kansas City (HSGKC) has partnered with Pete and Mac’s Recreational Resort for Pets three KC Metro Area resorts, as  drop off location for donations. In keeping with the football theme, Pete and Mac’s is offering 50% OFF Daycare during their Daycare Kick Off Party Super Bowl Sunday or Boarding on Super Bowl Sunday for any pet that makes a donation during the 4 week Super Bowl of Giving Supplies drive, as well as weekly prize drawings. The number of pets in rescues is at an all time high, as the struggling economy has forced many families to surrender a pet they can no longer care for. Some families in desperate situations have even resorted to leaving their pets behind in foreclosed homes. Your small supplies donations help save these pets. “We are very happy to partner with Pete and Mac’s Recreational Resort for Pets for this effort”, says Robin Rowland of HSGKC.  She continues, “The Humane Society of Greater Kansas City saves and improves the lives of dogs and cats throughout the Greater Kansas City community by providing education, adoptions, spay/neuter and preventative vet services. Your donations support this vital mission.  The shelter is the oldest humane society in the area, serving pets since 1912. They became the first no-kill shelter in the community (1994) and helped create the first no-kill county (Wyandotte) in the area (2008-present).
