NetCom Learning Provides Further Learning Experiences to its November Sarder Scholarship Winner

Jan. 10, 2012 - PRLog -- NetCom Learning (http://www.netcomlearning.com) recently announced the winner of its November Sarder Scholarship. James Gibbons won the $2,500 scholarship and plans to pursue a career in the network security field.

Named after benefactor and NetCom Learning CEO, author and business magnate Russell Sarder (http://www.russellsarder.com), the Sarder Scholarship is awarded to a different student each month. NetCom Learning offers the scholarship as a way to promote lifelong learning. The award can be used toward any of NetCom Learning’s IT training or business skills courses.

Gibbons, whose background includes CompTIA A+ certifications, said once he discovered the world of network security he was enthralled by it. He said he’d like to learn everything he can about securing a network, and he will use the scholarship to enroll in CISSP classes.

“My goal is to become an Information Security Specialist, and I feel that CISSP is the key certification for security professionals. If I were able to take this 48-hour course, it would mean everything to my career,” Gibbons said.

He said he plans to continue obtaining security certifications after gaining skills in his initial training classes.

Sarder acknowledged the fact that offering the scholarship helps many students, but it’s also rewarding for him as well. “It’s a great feeling to know that the Sarder Scholarship is helping students in their pursuit of lifelong learning and helping them realize their career goals,” Sarder said.
