Somfy Debuts New Features for TaHomA® at CES
Increased energy management and remote video monitoring features will be revealed

Dayton, N.J. (January 9, 2012) – Somfy Systems, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of radio-controlled motors (Radio Technology Somfy® – RTS) for interior and exterior window coverings, is debuting a number of new features within TaHomA®, its total home automation solution for control of Somfy-powered motorized products, lighting, and thermostats.  Somfy is introducing a series of updates at the 2012 International CES that are designed to make TaHomA® even more user-friendly and effective at home energy management.

TaHomA® enables users to control different aspects of the home with the touch of a button, efficiently balancing the amount of natural and artificial lighting, heating and cooling according to a user’s personal preferences and preferred energy management settings.

One of the features Somfy will be unveiling is TaHomA’s new “Home Occupancy” setting. With “Home Occupancy” enabled, TaHomA® monitors motion sensors installed throughout the home to make sure that when the home is unoccupied, lighting, thermostats and Somfy motorized window coverings are adjusted to the most energy efficient settings possible.

In addition, Somfy will reveal the TaHomA® controller’s new form factor – a sleek white design that also utilizes integrated WiFi, allowing for greater flexibility of controller placement during installation. Somfy will also preview the TaHomA iPad®, iPhone®, and iPod Touch® app suite which gives users total control on the go.

This year’s CES will also give attendees the opportunity to see cameras integrated into TaHomA®. Somfy will be demonstrating TaHomA’s remote video monitoring capabilities, which gives users the ability to check in on their homes anytime, anywhere.

“This is an exciting year for TaHomA®,” said Somfy North America CEO and President Michael Lee.  “Since its debut at last year’s CES, we’ve incorporated a number of new features and capabilities that make TaHomA® even easier to use and more intuitive than ever.”

Somfy is already looking ahead to enhance the functionality of this total home automation system even further. Future additions to TaHomA® include message alerts via text or email, multilingual display options, and advanced temperature and sunlight-sensing features.
