By: A & R Select Run For It began in the winter of 2009 and recorded their first demo song “The Stand Off” in April of that year. At that time the band consisted of guitarists Owen Grady and Jason Mack, bassist Adam Berryann, vocalist Cliff Cashatt, and drummer Matt Eccleston. Shortly after the release of the demo song, their singer, Cliff, decided to move on from the project and Tony Conner stepped in to record on their debut E.P. “We’ve Got the High Ground.” Matt parted ways with the group in 2010, a few months after the release of that album. He was eventually replaced by Scott Minner. In the summer of 2011, Run For It recorded their debut full length CD entitled “No You Ain’t, We Is” and have been going strong ever since. Their lead single “No Way Out” is the second track off of “No You Ain’t, We Is.” This single focuses on a portion of Tony’s life, where he states “when in a bad situation sometimes you can’t get out. There are times when you just can’t escape the reality of the situation and the sense of being trapped and the anguish that goes with it just takes over.” This song is a high octane, heart thumping, punk rock song that just knocks you out. The vocals and vocal harmonies are outstanding. They have a sprinkle of Green Day in them. You can hear guitar riffs and an energy that is just over the top. There is a mid song change up that is perfectly placed for maximum impact. It’s an attention grabber for sure. Some common threads that run through their songs are aggressive guitars, gang vocals, and thoughtful drum parts delivered with precision. The musical interests between the five members reach a broad spectrum of genres. When writing new material each member brings small tidbits of their own interests into the overall sound to construct something that has not been heard before. Always aiming high and taking careful steps forward brings their music to life in a beautiful fashion to audiences worldwide. “No You Ain’t, We Is” was released on September 17, 2011 to rave reviews.
