| Finalists for the Official Power Anthem of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials – Track & FieldThe TrackTown USA Local Organizing Committee (LOC) and Oregon Track Club (OTC) have announced three TrackTown12 Power Anthem Contest finalists.
By: SportsOne Three finalists submissions are posted online for voting at http://www.kduk.com and http://www.kflyfm.com from Jan. 4 – 18; the winner will be announced Jan. 19. To enter, contestants were asked to perform original lyrics capturing the spirit of TrackTown USA. Entries could include a video to accompany the power anthem. The winning act will be awarded two all-session tickets to the eight-day trials in Eugene, an invitation to perform the official anthem at TrackTown12 promotional events and bragging rights for penning the Official TrackTown12 Anthem. "We’re thrilled with the creativity, talent and overall passion for sport evident in every TrackTown12 Power Anthem submission," About the Finalists Rob Tobias and The Northwest Express Eugene musician Rob Tobias wrote and performed Off to the Races with his group, The Northwest Express. Inspired by blues, jazz, folk/rock and reggae, Tobias and The Northwest Express have performed their original songs of love, progressive values and appreciation of the Northwest at venues throughout Oregon. Little Rascalz Talented Albany duo and lifelong friends Trey Kenyon and Michael Shogren formed Little Rascalz in May 2010. Their submission for TrackTown12, Run this Town showcases their unique brand of electronic infused pop music. In 2012, Little Rascalz look to continued success and a growing Oregon and national fan base as they complete their second album. Matt Barnhart and The Cat Like Reflexes Eugene native Matt Barnhart has been running since he was 10 years old; his dad was a track coach for 25 years at Harrisburg High School and his grandfather coached at South Eugene High School. Barnhart was excited to work with his band The Cat Like Reflexes to combine his two favorite things in life, running and music, to produce Welcome to TrackTown – 2012 for TrackTown12. Barnhart currently works for RunnerSpace.com.
