By: Jacob Haar This new service gives a customer the opportunity to save up to 50% off of almost anything. As a customer, you start off by purchasing (or as the site describes, "gifting") an item, or any amount of your choosing, for someone else. You then become eligible to ask for a "gift" that can be valued up to two times the amount given. For example, someones wants to get a new television valued at $500. This customer could potentially go to this service and purchase, or gift, another user an item valued at $250. The person they gifted would receive their item, and the individual wanting the television would in turn have their request posted on the website until their $500 television is purchased for them saving them $250 dollars. A common concern seems to be that "no one is going to purchase a $500 item for someone because they would fear that there wouldn't be anybody willing to purchase a $1000 item for them. This concern is laid to rest and described at the site as not being an issue. Items are "gifted" to people in the order they are received, and smaller purchases made by customers are applied towards higher priced items, as long as they are next in line. Example someone could go on and make a $50 purchase which would be applied to the $500 television. Once that is paid off by one or multiple purchases from other customer(s) that person receives their new television. giftmeforward has gained quite a bit of interest on facebook, and looks like it could be an interesting new way to save in the new year.
