Follow on Google News | How to Learn ASL through Video LessonsASL Deafined is proud to announce that more than 10,000 American Sign Language videos are available for online learning within its membership website. You can enjoy learning ASL "one sign at a time" in our online learning community at your own pace.
By: ASL Deafined What can you expect to learn? Fingerspelling, sentences, phrases and words, alphabet and numbers, with complete video instruction. We have structured lessons, such as "animals", and activities like "Unscramble the Word", "Choose the Matching Video", "Choose the correct Sentence", etc. The website is used by people that want to communicate with those that cannot hear, by people that want to teach or interact using ASL, and even people that want to make themselves more marketable as translators. There is no limit to the age group that can benefit from the sign language learning material, but most people are divided into one of 3 groups (deaf students, parents with deaf children, the community at large). The ASL video lessons are grouped by category (and not just terms), for greater association and retention while learning. You can customize your membership account to learn what you want - when you want, including an individualized progress chart. You will also learn multiple meaning words and ASL concepts, including synonyms. All videos within the site are taught by nationally certified sign language interpreters. Weekly lessons are continually added, and anyone can connect (for free) through our ASL blog. Users have unlimited 24/7 access to all lessons at their leisure. Many students use the website as an ASL resource in addition to what they already have. Many hearing parents find it convenient to learn from home to better communicate with their deaf child.
