New Job Creation Tool: Fluke - the Wealth Building Game of Accidental Inventions

Dec. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Richard DeVos Sr. said in Sept. 2008 that too many Michiganders have been waiting for a giant company (or government?) to arrive and “drop a plant from the sky and save them” with thousands of new jobs. Instead, he says Michiganders should be doing what he and Jay Van Andel did in high school: spend most of their time talking about their own entrepreneurial ideas because the answers to Michigan’s future will largely come from the Entrepreneurs and Innovators already here on the ground.

Urban America in an ECONOMIC CRISIS as the unemployment rate in urban cities is astronomical.

FACT : High paying unskilled manufacturing jobs have been shipped overseas.

FACT : Careerbuilder.com shows there are 120,065 jobs nationwide for those with the right credentials.

Approximately 99, 965 or 83.12%  of jobs above require post-secondary training. Furthermore, approximately 63.86% require a Bachelor’s degree or higher.  When you dig further into the jobs that require only a high school diploma, many of those jobs require specific technology skills. The right credential is either an Associate’s degree, apprenticeship or more preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Science Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics. (STEAM). African Americans must grasp this new reality quickly.

I created a board game Fluke - the wealth building game of accidental inventions to change the mindset of residents; to get them to invent and create businesses around their invention. Often, many of us come up with great ideas, but struggle with how to fund them.
