By: SLK Creative What: To help South Florida’s Jewish community celebrate the commencement of Chanukah, The Shul of Bal Harbour has teamed up with Bay Harbor School and the local community to kick off 2011 Festival of Lights. The festivities, which will begin at the school (1155 93rd Street), will start with an hour-long parade. Guided by a police escort, 100 cars bearing beautifully crafted menorahs will roll through the cities of Bay Harbor, Bal Harbour, and Surfside. The parade will be followed by a grand celebration at the Shul – led by interactive drumming phenomena, Drum Café. More than 200 guests will take drums in hand as Drum Cafe gets them going with a live interactive drumming experience. For one hour, the facilitators will take everyone on a musical journey that is destined to instill a sense of unity in all. When: December 21st, 2011 beginning at 5pm with the Menorah Parade, Drum Cafe performance begins at 6:30 at The Shul of Bal Harbour Where: The Shul of Bal Harbour Why: The Shul of Bal Harbour - together with Drum Café - plan to ignite a sense of community and honor the tradition of Chanukah by bringing the congregation and public together for an exciting and endearing evening. Drum Cafe, a company dedicated to creating interactive musical experiences, will provide guests with instruments so that they can drum up a storm of excitement. The performers, in unison with the crowd, will turn random beats into a beautifully orchestrated symphony.
