From leisurely walks around the hotel to hikes through Langkawi’s rainforest, the Back to Nature Package takes the beauty of this destination closer to holidaymakers. Guests can select from 2 types of complimentary nature walks that come inclusive with the Back to Nature Package:

1.   Rainforest Awakening
Join the Rainforest Awakening walk every morning from 8:00 am to 9:30 am, except on Mondays. There are only 12 available slots for each day, so guests are encouraged to sign up with the concierge or nature desk as soon as they arrive at the resort. With this option, you get to soak in the beauty of Langkawi under the soft light of the sun, perfect for jump-starting your holiday activities.

2.   Rainforest After-dark
Rainforest After-dark occurs from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Only 12 guests are allowed for each walk. Guests must sign up with the concierge or at the nature desk to join the activity.

Apart from these 2 complimentary activities, The Datai Langkawi also offers other nature walks separate from the Back to Nature Package. Guests can sign up at the concierge or nature desk to further enjoy and learn about Langkawi. Our resort, in fact, has a resident naturalist that leads the ecology walks. After guests have indulged at The Datai Langkawi, it will be more enriching if they toured the setting that inspired the luxury that defines their stay. There are a lot of things you can discover here. Learn and discover how the different species of plants and animals have adapted to this dynamic environment of unpredictable tides, shifting sands, saline conditions, and the heat of the midday sun.

The other nature walks include:

1.   Beach Walk –Living on the Edge
The Beach Walk can be booked for a minimal fee. The activity takes place from 4:00 pm to 5:30pm on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Only 12 slots available per walk.

2.   Jungle Trekking
Available for a minimal charge. The Jungle Trekking happens daily, except Mondays, from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The jungle trails around the hotel are of varying difficulty for different levels of fitness. Trails can be custom-designed. Guests will be introduced to the many medicinal plants found here, often used in traditional Malay medicine. The tour is led by the local village bomoh or shaman.

3.   Family Trekking
Also available for a minimal charge, Family Trekking at The Datai Langkawi is every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. For small children, the hotel has an easy 500 m trail that leads to a jungle stream, where the kids can swim.
