Children’s Progress Academic Assessment Named Top 100 Product of 2011 by District Administration

District Administration Magazine named the Children's Progress Academic Assessment (CPAA) one of its 2011 Readers’ Choice Top 100 Products. Products were nominated by readers.

Dec. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- The Children’s Progress Academic Assessment (CPAA), the leading early elementary adaptive assessment, has been named one of the Top 100 Products of 2011 by District Administration Magazine.

Products that make District Administration’s annual Top 100 list are nominated by readers – administrators across the country – for making a significant difference in their school or district.

“The nominations offer a view into the inner workings of how districts use products to help solve particular issues,” says District Administration’s editor in chief, Judy Faust Hartnett. “The recommendations we receive include extensive descriptions from school administrators of how these products are used in their districts and the difference they have made, making it very challenging to choose only 100 products. We hope these products and their accompanying testimonials will provide a valuable resource for our readers.”

State agencies, districts, schools and early learning centers nationwide use the Children’s Progress Academic Assessment (CPAA) in prekindergarten through third grade to identify learning needs, differentiate instruction and monitor progress in line with a Response to Intervention (RTI) framework. CPAA web-based reports include specific instructional recommendations, aligned to Common Core and state standards.

Empirical research shows that students screened with the CPAA throughout the year perform better on high stakes state tests than students who are not exposed to the CPAA. Educators report that this computer-based program has helped cut down special education referrals by more than 50% in the first year of use.

“We are honored to be on District Administration’s list alongside other innovators such as Edmodo and Khan Academy. The fact that a record number of readers submitted product nominations this year makes us even more excited and humbled to be in the Top 100. As educators choose from an increasing number of adaptive products, we are determined to continue providing the very best diagnostic adaptive assessments and reports for the youngest school-aged children,” said Children’s Progress CEO Kevin Greaney.

This is the second award Children’s Progress has received this year. The first was its third Inc 500|5000 award, which recognizes the fastest growing small businesses nationwide.
