New Laser Doppler Displacement Meter Arrives

One of our newest calibrators is the Optodyne MCV-4000 Laser Doppler Displacement Meter.

Dec. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- The Optodyne MCV-4000 Laser Doppler Displacement Meter is a high-precision displacement measuring device capable of simultaneous linear and angular data collection.

It measures linear displacement, straightness, squareness, parallelism, angular, surface flatness, and guideway alignment.  Its major applications would be calibration of CNC machine tools, CMM’s, Leadscrews, DRO’s, surface plates, checking pitch/yaw angles and straightness of machine axes. Material temperature, air temperature and air pressure variations are automatically compensated for by software using data from the system’s sensors.

With the special dual-channel processor module and dual-beam laser, the operator can simultaneously collect linear and angular data. The Windows™ software package included with the MCV-4000 also enables the operator to collect surface flatness data. Using the Moody method, flatness data can be converted into a surface height map.

The laser stability is 0.1 PPM and the system accuracy is 1 PPM
