By: PBC Art gallery New Delhi, November 26, 2011: PBC Art Gallery in collaboration with Friends of Tribal Society proudly presents Group Art Show “Samvedana” The occasion was graced by the presence of four Guest of Honor, H.E. Mr. A Peter Burleigh, Ambassador, Embassy of U.S.A, H.E Jaime Nualart, Ambassador of Embassy of Mexico, H.E Jorge Ayres Roza De Oliveira, Ambassador, Embassy of Portugal, H.E Karen Tan, High Commissioner, Singapore High Commission. Apart from these, many other prominent VIPs, Ambassadors and art connoisseurs were also present to appreciate the outstanding work of the artists. Unlike any other Art Show, Samvedna holds utmost relevance to children residing in more than 35,000 villages as profits out of the sale proceeds towards educating them. To achieve this mission, an MoU has been signed between Friends Of Tribals Society (FTS) an Ekal Vidyalay movement, and The Climate Reality Project India. Samvedana, an art show of exclusive paintings and sculptures of remarkable artists from all over India is committed to add value to children's schooling through compassion and proactive interventions. It strives to support the underprivileged children in remote areas. Leader of the opposition, in Lok Sabha, Shri L.K. Advani, appreciated the art works and said, “All the artists have a spectacular talent and this showcase is an excellent initiative by PBC art gallery for a social cause. Each artwork displayed appeared like a poetry that can be seen rather than felt. It has a motive and life in itself.” Most of the paintings depicted the truth of life and it portrayed on various social subjects like impact of education on an individual etc. It reflected the appropriate relations between emotions and life. All these self taught and highly motivated artists actively participate in fundraising and shows for charity. Mr. Kamal Meattle, CEO of Paharpur Business Center, felt the artwork was dazzling and over-the-top possessing artistic ability. “It creates an enclosed world having key elements of life in it”. Artists worked extensively on acrylics, watercolors and canvas. Lot of masterpieces showed the ray of light on various aspects of life like hope, survival and happiness. P.T.O One of the renowned artist, who has a unique style in ceramics, says, her imagination has given incredible shape and concept to the painting and sculptures, which are spread across the country. The artworks will be displayed at PBC Art Gallery, Nehru Place from November 28 to December 2, Time: 10 am to 6 pm. The art show was sponsored by Yes Bank, Cafe Buddy’s, Max Foundation and supported by Ekal Vidyalya foundation, Spring Clean, Green Spaces and Cuisine Art. Friends Of Tribal Society is a non-government, voluntary organization is committed to the upliftment of tribals and other deprived in rural India, by providing basic education to their children and giving the villagers health care education, development education and empowerment education. The Climate Reality Project, founded in 2006, by former U.S Vice President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore, aims at creating awareness about the environment and solvability of climate change. PBC Art Gallery, by bringing together artists across India and thus organising event, has been a backbone to this noble cause.
