Paharpur Business Centre celebrates Women’s Day

May 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Paharpur Business Centre celebrated the International Women’s day with the theme “Representing Four Generations of Women Power at PBC”. On this occasion, Honourable Mrs. G. Swarup, the women behind the great success of Paharpur Group, graced the event as a chief guest.

The event was initiated by lighting of a lamp of enlightment by the chief guest, Mrs Swarup. She shared her views on the occasion. Paharpur Business Centre CEO, Mr. Kamal Meattle, Group GM, Mrs Roopali Shahaney and other lady members also shared their views on women empowerment. The management in the end gave away tags of appreciation to the ladies.

On a global front, every year UNO celebrates International Women’s day on 8th March to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Big companies, government offices, charities and different women's groups around the world choose different themes each year that reflect global and local gender issues.

Mr Meattle in his speech acknowledged the women workforce at PBC and thanked them for their relentless contribution. “Women’s day is important, as a mother is a woman. She loves, takes care and shares everything. She plays the character of a daughter, sister, wife and mother, all within a span of a few years. At PBC, we salute them. We provide a work environment that is supportive.” Further a video on top women achievers of India was also shown.

"Woman is more fitted than man to make exploration and take bolder action in nonviolence. There is no occasion for women to consider themselves subordinate or inferior to men. Woman is the companion of man, gifted with equal mental capacity. If by strength is meant moral power, then woman is immeasurably man's superior. If nonviolence is the law of our being, the future is with women.”. This was the quote of our father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi.

Today India is competing to be a global leader but this change cannot be attained unless women here are not empowered. If India has to grow it needs to provide sufficient education to women. Even the Vedas states “Parents should gift their daughter intellectuality and power of knowledge when she leaves for husband’s home. They should give her a dowry of knowledge.” Educated women today are not only contributing for the success of the society but also plays a key role in shaping the life of the succeeding generations. There are uncounted number of women achievers who needs to be praised for their contribution and being a motivation for many women to come on the fore and succeed in their life.
