PRLog -- Search engine optimization(
SEO) is a process where a programmer work with a website and other sites to generate more power to ones site and place them on the front page. There are many steps to SEO and a lot of time that go's into getting a site to the front page of an organic search or a geo-targeted(
local) search. All the search engines not just the popular once have a grading system for all the websites you can find through their search engines. The reason is because of spam. The search engines are in a constant battle with spammers to make them the most relevant search engines. No one wants to type in a keyword like "plumber" and find an electrical contractor so check points are put into place to make all search results the most relevant to the keyword. So first step to the SEO process is your website. How many links do you have? How many tags do you have? Are you tags filled out correctly? What are the PR(page rank) values of your links? What kind of links do you have? How much content do you have? What is the keyword density of the content on the site? There are so many questions the search engines want to know there is to much to list here. The reason SEO can take 30-90 days like everyone has heard so often is because of the search engines take for example one of Organic Rankings Inc. clients before he signed up he was nowhere to found online and had no traffic coming to his site at the 30 day mark he got a little worried since he did not have front page results yet not 2 weeks later he was all over the front page. The reason being it took just a little over 30 days for the search engines to find all the work and index every link pointing back to his site. All it took was some time and a lot of link building as well as blogging and article writing and may different methods Organic Rankings Inc. uses. Every company that has a website could use SEO to there advantage the way I like to explain it to our clients is a website is like a billboard just having one in the desert is not going to drive you new customers but putting it at the major freeway interchange during rush hour you can expect calls to come in. So yes every website needs SEO to make it most relevant online and get your company found by 1000's of new customers. For those company owners that have been with an SEO company int the past and have left with a bad expirence remember not all companies are the same and sometimes its just finding the right one to work with.
