Paymo releases zero-maintenance desktop time tracking application for Windows & Mac OS X

One of the greatest problems with traditional time tracking solutions is the requirement that the user must stop and start the clock every time they switch between tasks in order to record that time under the correct project. This approach still has strong advantages over not tracking time at all, but PaymoPlus reduces overhead time drastically.

PaymoPlus solves this problem by allowing you to track the amount of time spent not just in specific applications, but specific files in each app – be it Word documents or just different tabs in the browser. A social media consultant, for instance, can determine exactly when and for how long they were checking email versus managing client social networking profiles despite both activities occurring within the web browser.

At the end of the day, the user can rapidly drag-and-drop time into the correct baskets for tasks and projects, moving the overhead of time tracking out of the way of the real work.

In case sorting time logs at the end of the day seems like too much work, PaymoPlus has a powerful rule filtering system to automate the process. It’s easy to set up a rule that files all time spent in a specific application or window title with a given project or task, so all time spent using a client’s WordPress system in the browser, for example, is automatically filed – without dumping all your other browser activity in with it.

Not only does PaymoPlus take the work out of time tracking, users can log entries whether they have an active Internet connection or not. The data will be synced up with the Paymo web application as soon as the user goes online next.
