Finalists Gear Up for Tri-Rail's “South Florida's Kids Got Talent” on Dec. 10

Nov. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Fort Lauderdale, Florida---Twelve talented singers and dancers, all under 15 years of age, will compete in Tri-Rail’s “South Florida Kids Got Talent,” sponsored in part by Pollo Tropical, on Sat., Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. at The Galleria in Fort Lauderdale.  As part of this exciting competition, event goers will also enjoy a special performance by American Idol Season 10 Top 24 Finalist, Brett Loewenstern.

“We are excited to take the lead in hosting this competition, which will showcase the talented youth here in South Florida,” said Bonnie Arnold, director of marketing, SFRTA/Tri-Rail.  “We recognize that children are our future, and we are excited to give them a chance to shine.”

The 12 finalists were prepared to take the stage as part of Tri-Rail’s annual “Rail Fun Day” community celebration on Oct. 29, but due to inclement weather, the show was postponed.  The contestants will now have the chance to show of their talents in an effort to be crowned the winner of this first-ever competition, and take home the $500 grand prize and four tickets to see Cirque Dreams “Holidaze” at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Dec. 27 – Jan. 1.

Maggie Wilkinson, Boca Raton

Each of the 12 finalists will have the opportunity to perform one song before the winner is selected.  Judges, include Brett Loewenstern, American Idol Season 10 Top 24 finalist; Jenn Sierra-Grobbelaar, marketing and public relations director for Cirque Productions; Camasha Cevieux, deputy director of Miramar Cultural Center; and Earl Bosworth, executive director of ArtServe.

To add to the excitement, American Idol’s Brett Loewenstern will also take the stage, performing an original track “Look At Me Now,” which addresses issues of bullying – a prevalent topic amongst today’s youth.
