November and December will also be busy for Holz as he is scheduled to play at The Cornerstone in Red Creek ,NY on 11/12/11, Kelly’s in Syracuse, NY on 11/18,Woody’ Bob Holz is widely considered to be one of America’s funkiest drummers with his poly rhythmic approach. He has shared the stage with Peter Tosh, The Outlaws, Mountain, Noel Redding, Robben Ford, Foghat, Molly Hatchet, Head East,Savoy Brown,Tonio K, Benny Mardones,Wolfman Jack, The Winters Brothers,Blackfoot, Shemika Copeland,Johnny Winter,Eddie Money,Maria Muldaur,Dr. John,The Grass Roots,Three Dog Night, Blue Oyster Cult,Elvin Bishop,Duke Robillard,Rnee Austin, Marcia Ball,Sue Foley,Ansun Funderburgh and the Rockets with Sam Meyers,Otis Rush,Eddie Shaw and the Wolf Gang,Pinetop Perkins,Little Charlie and the Night Cats,Commander Cody,Point Blank,Grinderswitch,Stillwater,Bobby Kimball of Toto,Orleans,Brian Howe of Bad Company,Dakota,George Clinton and Parliament Funk,Ed Hamell and many others. Besides attending Berklee College of Music, Bob also studied privately with Dave Weckl, Billy Cobham,Wilby Fletcher,Kim Plainfield,Keith Copeland,Gary Chafee,Joe Hunt,Ricky Sebastian,Michael Lauren,Zack Danziger,Terry Silverlight,Herb Flower,Dave Hanlon and Clayton Cameron. Upon leaving Berklee College of Music, Bob played throughout New England on the club scene. He then moved to New York City and began playing live and studio gigs. As a member of Slidewinder he shared the stage with Howlin Wolf's band who invited him to sit in at the age of 19.He released a record and major movie sound track with The Paul Case Band. With Cold Sweat he became known within the NY progressive scene. He then formed or joined a number of bands including Solzncommn,Featherstone, Abraxas, Big D and Tasty Café, Roosevelt Dean, The Critics, Sharp Dressed Penguines,The Edge,Kentucky Moon,Tom Healy Band,Blue Streak,Dirty Pool,Kid Slick, John Puma and Dr. Killdean. As a member of Spider Murphy he continued to tour and record. Presently he is playing with Smart Alec, The John Glen Band and Airtraffic.
