By: ToyBox PR FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRLog (Press Release) - November 6, 2011 - A current issue that deals with circumstances yielding life or death consequences has proven to be an utter failure. This matter needs to be exposed and investigated. Michael Slider and his family (former detective supervisor with the LAPD) have unfortunately been privy to the inner workings of the Witness Protection Program within the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. As a direct result of negligent police work and the inadequacies of the Witness Protection Program, a member the Slider family, Pamela Lark was murdered in the driveway of her house in front of her two minor grandchildren, by the very person she was to be protected from. The gross negligence included, but is not limited to: various police officers’ failure to take action, the refusal to investigate departmental misconduct, the release of the victims name and address to the suspect, a lack of consistent policies and procedures guiding the program, the denial of the release of Witness Protection funds to the victim and unbelievably blaming the victim for her own death. All of which were in direct violation of Departmental rules and the Federal Consent Decree which was in effect at the time of the crime. The program is so poorly managed, that recently LAPD arrested one of it own detectives for embezzlement of Witness Protection funds! The suspect has inevitably been convicted for murder, armed robbery and witness intimidation; This case was also featured on the front page of the LA times for two days. http://articles.latimes.com/ If this miscarriage of justice is allowed to continue unchecked, tragedies like this one the Slider family has suffered will undoubtedly occur to others again and again. The Slider Family would very much like to meet with news media to give more details. Media are also invited to attend the sentencing hearing for the People vs Tyquan Knox case. (210 W. Temple Dept 109 9th floor same courtroom as Conrad Murray case.) At Toy Box PR we handle difficult task, but we make simple outcomes.
