Nov. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- After two months of scrubbing, cleaning, rebuilding, and restocking, Brick’s Shursave Market in Tunkhannock, PA will be re-opening Thursday November 10th.  With the September Flooding that hit the Wyoming County area, Brick’s saw 20 inches of water come into their store.   Without warning, the waters of Swalebrook caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.  Shelves had been knocked down, equipment ruined, and inventory lost.  With a strong commitment to their community, Brick’s Market owners, Lynn and Paul Reynolds immediately sought their quest to rebound from the disaster.
Mother-Nature’s fury did allow Brick’s the opportunity to do remodeling they had already been considering.  Shoppers will see a warmer, well-lit, and more inviting store.  New floors, new paint, new cases, and some new shelving have been put into place.  They are still awaiting the arrival of additional shelving and a few other items.  Lynn Reynolds shared, “the vendors have been very good to us, as well.  We have new end racks and other goodies to put into place”.   When it all comes together, shoppers will see a new look to their old favorite store.
Two band new ovens were installed in the past week and Brick’s will be able to offer their ready-made, home-cooked meals and sides in the deli.  At this time of the year you may be eager to see the return of Brick’s deli platters, vegetable trays, and fruit baskets along with catering for your holiday gatherings.  They will most certainly be waiting for your orders.
Bakery ovens that also needed to be replaced were on back order and should be delivered by Wednesday the 9th.   The bakery crew is looking forward to using a new workstation as they return to decorating cakes with your favorite characters and designs.  With the holiday season quickly approaching, you can rest assured Brick’s will be back up and providing you with delicious deserts for your celebrations.  The bakery will be set to take your special orders for cakes, pies and holiday cookie trays.
Area families have made Brick’s fresh made kielbasa and sausage part of their traditions. After a few weeks off, Alan Sturdevant, the Brick’s butcher is eager to get to work with the brand-new equipment in the meat department.  With Alan’s homemade sausage and kielbasa recipes, shoppers will be able to find their favorite flavors along with choice cuts of meat.
Lynn and Paul Reynolds have always run a very clean, nice store.  Now, shopper will be treated to an even cleaner and nicer store.   After all inspections are complete and the Brick’s family has a good majority of essentials in place, the store that’s been operating at 177 East Tioga Street in Tunkhannock since June of 1970 will be re-opened.  Opening time is firmly set for 8 AM, Thursday November 10th. It will take a few more weeks for absolutely everything to be completely put together.   For more information you can call 570-836-3421.
