Shares inspiration and encouragement with Lowell General Hospital’s
community forum

November 2, 2011 – Lowell, Mass. – Entrepreneur Sal Lupoli inspired more than 100 area business leaders with vignettes from his years in food industry, real estate development and business as part of the Lowell General Hospital Business Leadership Forum this month.  As the president and CEO of the Lupoli Companies, Lupoli oversees a diverse business operations that spans well known restaurants (Sal’s Pizza, Mary’s Pasta & Sandwiches, Salvatore’s Restaurants) and real estate developments, including Riverwalk Properties in Lawrence, MA.  Founded in 1990, the Lupoli Companies employ more than 700 people nationwide and is headquartered in Lawrence, Mass.

Attendees from  the healthcare, finance, real estate, and technology industry were captivated by the lessons learned by Lupoli while building a business of food and real estate concerns. Lupoli’s successes have led to the redevelopment of formerly depressed real estate and created thousands of jobs in the region.

“Breathing new life into the Lawrence Mills was a passion and a commitment that was not for the faint of heart, but for the bold and inspired. Taking a chance with my own personal business venture, inspired by the legacy of my father, I expanded the opportunities for myself as well as the Greater Merrimack Valley Region. This was possible not by playing it safe, but by making intelligent investments and an eye towards to the future,” Lupoli told the group.

“From the Legacy Project at Lowell General and enhancements on the campus of UMass Lowell to the banks of the Riverwalk in Lawrence, investments by both public and private entities are making the Merrimack Valley an outstanding place to live and work,” said Normand E. Deschene, president and CEO of Lowell General Hospital. “Mr. Lupoli is an exceptional example of how leadership involves risks to achieve great rewards.”

Lowell General’s Business Leadership Forum is a semi-annual event which brings together business leaders and owners in the Merrimack Valley and Greater Lowell area to hear about issues that affect our community and our health.
