Expert ADHD Coach to teach “Working Together as a Family with ADHD”

Nov. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Carol Gignoux, M.Ed., founder of ADD Insights, LLC in cooperation with Family & Friends Coaching Practice of Cranston, Rhode Island, is excited to announce the new Parent and Family Advocate Workshop Series entitled, “Working Together as a Family with ADHD.”

The workshop, to be taught by Carol Gignoux M.Ed., will explore what life is like in families where there is a child or children diagnosed with ADHD. Carol will examine: understanding medication (upside and downside), building family relationships, protecting children's self-esteem and partnering with your child's school.

The Parent and Family Advocate Workshop Series are geared to professionals who work with children and families in their professional roles, but it is not limited to this audience. The series is open to all, especially parents, and their families and friends who are acting as surrogate/extended family members. Professionals who work with children in whatever type of family support system should have an understanding of the social, emotional and biological challenges that children face.  

Family and Friends Coaching Practice have created this series to assist professionals in providing more effective supportive services for families in non-traditional family systems. The series will focus upon parents, their children, and their parents friends' who become surrogate/extended family members.

The Workshop is open to the general public; professionals who attend are eligible for 6 CEU's approved by the National Association of Social Workers Chapters for MA & RI, and 6 PDP's approved by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for Rhode Island.
