By: SportsOne Boyer’s involvement began in 1997, and he has been a member of the Board of Trustees or Advisory Board since 2000. He chaired the Operations Committee that oversees House procedures and policies. Throughout the past decade Boyer has been an important liaison for Parr Lumber’s ongoing involvement with RMHC. “Jim understands that the Ronald McDonald House is about family first and foremost,” said RMHC’s Executive Director Tom Soma. “He and his family have really adopted this organization, and made their mark in so many different ways. Through his involvement with Parr Lumber, he’s helped us develop one of our most important corporate relationships.” Boyer and his wife, Barbara, are generous fundraisers and charter members of RMHC’s major giving society. They have made their involvement with RMHC a true family activity, participating enthusiastically with their children and grandchildren in RMHC activities, while contributing time, energy and support during volunteer events and special occasions. “My involvement with Ronald McDonald House Charities has reinforced to me how important families can be, and given my own family a great outlet to become involved in something meaningful together,” Boyer said. “I’ve seen RMHC continue to grow over the past decade, but everything we’ve done always comes back to the families who need these houses.” About The Parr Company The Parr Company consists of six distinct companies that provide building solutions and services: Parr Lumber Company, Parr Cabinet Outlet, Cascade Wholesale Hardware, NSC, NSCi and Parr Marketing Group.
