Oct. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- (NEWPORT, RI October 20, 2011) Newport is home to the only dinner cruise ship in Rhode Island. As of Friday, October 14, it is under new ownership. Newport resident Max Nuki has purchased the former Newport Cruise Company’s Majestic and has great plans for her.

The Majestic, with 2 decks, a capacity to seat 149 passengers and a centrally located berth at Bowen’s Wharf Landing, has been providing seasonal charters, harbor tours, luncheon and dinner cruises to residents and visitors for 6 years.

With a new Skipper at the helm, Newport Majestic Cruises will be operating year-round with a schedule of specialty cruises designed to excite and entertain on the water. A colonial thanksgiving dinner on the Bay, visits with Santa, a New Year celebration complete with fireworks, and Seal Watch tours are just a few on the cruise winter agenda.

“The Majestic is a one-of-a-kind venue for any event,” says Max Nuki, Majestic’s CEO. “We want folks to come to know the Majestic as adding that special sizzle that they can’t find anywhere else. There is truly something magical onboard and it’s the perfect backdrop for any occasion.”

Wisconsin based SkipperLiner has been building luxury yachts since 1971. The Majestic made its way to Newport from Connecticut in 2006 and is now the only local dining cruise ship in Rhode Island.  “It’s an entirely different dining experience when you are out on the water,” says Nuki. “It’s fun, romantic, and uplifting.”

Entering the 2012 season, the Majestic will be offering full galley service, with food prepared onboard by Newport’s own, Chef Percy Cook.  “We will be offering several Majestic signature dishes using local produce and seafood,” says Percy. “We want to work with local growers to showcase all that Rhode Island has to offer.”

At the Bowen’s Wharf Seafood Festival this past weekend, Newport Majestic Cruises introduced a Striped Bass Beurre Blanc and a fall vegetable salad with ingredients from Long Wharf Seafood and The Rhode Island Nurseries. The Majestic will also work with other neighboring businesses to forge strategic relationships that are mutually beneficial.

With the Tall Ships and the AC World Series returning to Newport, the Majestic is currently booking charters for the Grand Parade of Sails, the Tall Ship Firework Show, and spectator viewing cruises of both the Tall Ships and the AC races.
