Plenty to see and do in Liverpool this autumn

Samuel Johnson once said, “If you’re tired of London, you’re tired of life”. The same can certainly be said of Liverpool, which boasts a fantastic events schedule this autumn.

Oct. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- For music lovers, 1990s band Dodgy will be playing at the Citadel in St Helens on October 15, while 12 piece orchestra Pink Martini will be blending jazz, cabaret, lounge and 1940s film music at the Philharmonic on Hope Street on the same night.  Elsewhere, On a Mission singer Katy B will perform at the O2 Academy in the city centre on October 16, with her namesake Katy Perry taking to the stage on October 18 at the Echo arena.

If you fancy a more unusual night out, give Colin Fry: The People’s Medium a try on October 19.  He’ll be delivering messages of love and comfort at the Floral Pavilion Theatre in New Brighton.  In a similar vein, there’s the Children’s Fun Ghost Hunt at Croxteth Hall from Saturday, October 22 to Sunday, October 30, featuring puppetry, song, dance and traditional storytelling.

A jam-packed events schedule wouldn’t be the same without a good laugh – and providing the giggles on October 25 and 26 is Spexy Beast himself, Alan Carr, at the Echo Arena.  After rubbing shoulders with A-listers on his own chat show, this is Alan’s first stand-up tour in four years.  And fellow superstar comic Michael McIntyre, who recently had a stint on Britain’s Got Talent, will also be doing his thing at the Echo Arena on November 22.

Once the music and laughs are over, you’ll want a nice meal and a place to lay your head.  There is an abundance of lovely restaurants and hotels in Liverpool and its environs, so you’ll be spoilt for choice.

The city has all manner of establishments when it comes to dining, such as haute cuisine, independent bistros and exotic offerings like Thai and Japanese.  Whatever your palate, there will be something to accommodate you.  And talking of accommodation, when you’re looking for a hotel in Liverpool you can choose between budget chains, exclusive five star venues or quirky B&Bs – the city really does have it all.

So what are you waiting for?  Book into your Liverpool hotel now, arrange your dinner reservation and make the most of what the city has to offer!  Whatever you decide to do, there’s one guarantee – you won’t be disappointed with this cosmopolitan, vibrant place.
