NappyMuseTV Says Human Trafficking Is Happening Right Here in America.

Oct. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- NappyMuseTV, Brooklyn, New York’s leading Human Rights WebTV Network, today announced human trafficking in not only taking place in Cambodia, parts of Africa, and Russia, but right here in the United States of America.

“It's not just taking place in poor urban communities.  It's happening in places like Manhattan, Miami, and Hollywood,” said Jaye Reliford, Creator, of NappyMuseTV, which brings together literary artist, visual artist, and performing artist from around the world to inspire people to love.

According to Jaye, pimps are not just the local drug lord.  Many of them are “legitimate” businessmen and women, and you can also find them in government departments too.

“Many of the ‘Johns’ are upstanding citizens, icons, elected officials and the average family man.

You never know who are involved in child kidnapping.  Many children are never heard from again, because most of them are shipped abroad for purposes relating to prostitution and drug trafficking,” noted Jaye.

“It's a hard pill to swallow knowing that traffickers would use infants for oral sex. But it is happening,” she added.

However, Jaye said NappyMuseTV is approaching human trafficking in the way that people can have a sense of hope. Everyone is not cut out for getting involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked victims. But everyone can and should be inspired to get involved in the prevention aspects, even if it's just prevention for your own child.

“Simply put our network seeks to inspire artistes to become activists.  Artivist is the cross between an artistes and activists,” said Jaye, who network’s focus is primarily to stop human trafficking.

Notwithstanding the network’s narrow focus, its owners also understand that human trafficking is supported by other issues, namely poverty, genocide, troubled and broken homes, broken spirits, disasters, kidnappings, and lack of awareness.  As a result, Jaye said they are now in the process of developing prevention and rescue programs.  

“We are supporting and joining with other organizations to successfully implement future programs,” admitted Jaye, whose network’s approach to human rights issues hangs on the thread of inspiration.
 
The network also believed that the arts are the most powerful form of inspiration.  In fact, Jaye noted that the arts have been an inspiration around the world from the beginning of time, and that NappyMuseTV is the Hollywood of Human Rights.  

“We make it cool to care,” she observed, while issuing a clarion call to fellow artistes and fans to join the www.NappyMuse.com network.  

“We are calling for literary artists, visual artists, and performing artistes from around the world, including but not limited to, painters, sculptors, sketch artists, independent film makers, fashion designers, make-up artists, writers, authors, spoken word artistes, actors, entertainers, singers, bands, musicians, and dancers. When? Now!” said Jaye.
