2012 Volkswagen Golf R ready to be sold in U.S.

Oct. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- It is equipped with a high-output version of a turbo-charged 2.0 L TSI engine, capable to generate 256 HP, with 6 more HP than the VR6 engine installed on the previous 2008 Volkswagen R32.

More powerful and also more economical - 2012 Volkswagen Golf R will need only 8 L of fuel in the city and 11.48 L of fuel per km on the highway. 2012 Volkswagen Golf R, like the previous R32 versions has Volkswagen's 4Motion AWD system. For the 1st time, the Golf R is available in 2 and 4-door and also 2 trim levels : Golf R and Golf R with Sunroof and Navigation.

At the exterior, there's a new bumper with LED daytime running lights incorporated. A "R" logo is featured on the finished gloss black radiator grille, unique Bi-Xenon headlamps also framed in black.

AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System) are available in the 2012 Volkswagen Golf providing better visibility to the driver, turning the lights with the steering wheel up to 15 degrees. The "R" logo can be also found on the new 18" alloy wheels. Five colors are available for the 2012 Volkswagen Golf R : 1) Rising Blue; 2) Candy White; 3) Carbon Steel; 4) Black; 5) Tornado Red.

Inside, the driver and the passenger will be welcomed with the same "R" logo on the sills and on the head restraint. The steering wheel is covered in leather with gloss-black-finished spokes.

Even in the base form, 2012 Volkswagen Golf R is well equipped, offering fully automatic dual-zone climate as standard, Premium VIII audio with 8 speakers, aux-in, Media Device with iPod connectivity. 2012 Volkswagen Golf R with Sunroof and Navigation adds RNS 315 touchscreen navigation system, a 300 W Dynaudio Sound Sytem, a sunroof and keyless Entry with push-button start.

2012 Volkswagen Golf R has a price tag of 33.990$ and Golf R with Sunroof and Navigation from 35.490$.
