Steve Gray Named Distinguished Volunteer of the Year by the Northwest Credit Union Association

Oct. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- OnPoint Community Credit Union is proud to announce that Steve Gray, former chairman of the board, has received the 2011 Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) Distinguished Volunteer of the Year Award. The award is the highest honor that can be presented to a credit union volunteer in the Northwest, and recognizes outstanding accomplishments including time and effort in support and promotion of the credit union philosophy. Gray was honored at the NWCUA’s Convention and Annual Business Meeting Summit Awards dinner, hosted jointly by the Washington Credit Union Foundation and the Oregon Credit Union Foundation.

The NWCUA recognized Gray’s tireless commitment to OnPoint, as well as his involvement in the credit union movement at the local, state and national levels. “I’m honored to receive such recognition,” said Gray. “It’s been rewarding to be an advocate for an organization that has deep roots in Oregon and Southwest Washington and makes a lasting, positive impact on members’ financial well-being and the entire community.”

Gray’s credit union career spans more than 20 years, with his most recent position being chairman of the board. Prior to his election to the board of directors, Gray served on the budget and finance, supervisory, human resources and facilities planning committees.  

While serving OnPoint, Gray was additionally recognized with the following awards from the Credit Union National Association: Credit Committee Award, Supervisory Committee Award, Roy F. Bergengren Award, Friedrich W. Raiffeisen Award, Edward A. Filene Award, and the Board of Directors Award.
