Father Tim Wozniak Named New Pastor at St. Thomas Becket in Eagan, MN

Oct. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Eagan, MN - October 04, 2011 -- St. Thomas Becket Catholic Church in Eagan proudly welcomes Father Tim Wozniak as its new pastor. Most recently Father Tim was pastor at Risen Savior Catholic Church in Burnsville for 12 years. Prior to that, he was pastor of the St. Thomas Aquinas parish in St. Paul Park for 12 years. He also previously held associate pastor roles at four different Twin Cities parishes. He was ordained in 1974. St. Thomas Becket was the only parish for which he submitted his name for consideration as pastor out of 21 parishes that had pastor openings in the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

"I love being a priest, and being with the people of the parish I am with," said Father Wozniak. "I have prayed for the St. Thomas Becket parish ever since I received word I would be its pastor. I ask the community to pray for me as I make the transition. I am looking forward to meeting every St. Thomas Becket member and being with the parish for many years."

He welcomes invitations from St. Thomas Becket parishioners to join their families, groups or neighborhoods for meals, coffee or other gatherings. He also invites the parish’s young people to send him schedules for their extracurricular activities so he can try to attend their sporting events, band concerts, and other activities.

A St. Louis Park native, he is the oldest of eight children and his mother still lives in the house where he was raised. Father Tim is a sports fan who enjoys playing golf, skiing, working out, and attending sporting events. Joining him in his new role at St. Thomas Becket is his canine companion Bogey, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever who will be sighted frequently at the church on weekends.
