Follow on Google News | Students Selected as $1,000 Great Basin Federal Credit Union Scholarship RecipientsGreat Basin Federal Credit Union recently selected Alexandra Vallas and Justin Rashidi as the co-recipients of the 2011-2012 scholarship in the amount of $1,000 each.
By: Elisabeth Hadler Both winners had a remarkable roster of achievements, including outstanding grades and a history of volunteerism. Both Justin and Alexandra founded their own non-profits organizations that assist others in our local community. They dedicate hours upon hours to their causes on top of maintaining outstanding grades. Each year, Great Basin Federal Credit Union awards at least one scholarship for the academic year in the amount of $1,000. The funds can be used for tuition at any accredited post-secondary school or for books. Selection is based on the applicant's involvement in community service, leadership activities and academic achievement. This scholarship is open to all credit union members with at least one year's membership with the credit union. This is our eighth year awarding the scholarship.
