Mayor Michael Bloomberg Proclaims 3rd Annual New York Week for the Animals October 1-9, 2011

Sept. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Events will include pet adoption events across the state, low cost & free spay/neuter events, R.E.A.D. dog programs in libraries, dog training classes, book donations and author signings, blessings of the animals, student activities for the animals, law seminars, animal communication presentations, BINGO for homeless animals, feral cat education, horse events, pet food donations, farm animal sanctuary events, micochipping, wildlife camps, art activities, bird tours/activities, zoo educational/meet caretakers presentations, donation drives, and therapy animals visiting schools, hospitals and living-assisted homes.  

Also to be included are a salute to our working K-9 and handlers, pet first aid, care & safety seminars, feral cat initiatives, low cost vaccinations, blessing of the animals, educational & tabling events, vegetarian expos, and full-filled festivals for families to enjoy friendship, food, music on behalf of the always amazing animals. Scores of precious lives will be saved and exciting new relationships will be built in communities during the dynamic week which will have 100+ events scheduled during the week!
