Department of Correctional Service Jamaica a stakeholder in Kevoy Community Dev. Inst.Youth Program

Sept. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- Kevoy Community Development Institute (KCDI) via its Community Development Unit formulated the Youth Empowerment Programme for the parish of St. Thomas Jamaica W.I.

Stakeholders in the programme are The  Department of Correctional Services (DCS), Social Development Commission (SDC), Jamaica Foundation For Life Long Learning(JFLL) and the Police Community Safety Unit along with prospective HEAT Trust trainee.

The programme will address numeracy and literacy along with human right topics which will bring about a sense of awareness as it relates to their(Youths) rights and responsibilities under the Jamaican Constitution.  The programme will be conducted at  2 Beach Drive Lyssons St. Thomas Jamaica W.I.  Learners  and stakeholders have expressed an overwhelming supports for the programme.

It is against this background why KCDI Jamaica has designed and will implement such a programme and intend to expend said programme into other parishes.  

Other programmes will cater to the wider  community.
