Sept. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Washington DC - "Social Media for Business: The Small Business Guide to Online Marketing" by two authors with history in Washington DC, Martin Brossman and Anora McGaha, has been released through Amazon's Kindle Store, and is also available internationally on Amazon's UK, Canadian, French, German, Austrian and Japanese sites both in paperback and as ebooks.

The award winning authors Martin Brossman and Anora McGaha have roots in the Washington DC area.

Brossman was born and raised in Washington DC, son of a research analyst for the labor department and science advisor for the Environmental Protection Agency. He grew up in the city until he was 18 and had a rich exposure to both social and political diversity. His mother  still resides there. There for Watergate, Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King, Vietnam Protests and the Space Program, this upbringing gave him the ability to see things from multiple political and cultural perspectives.

McGaha is a US diplomat's daughter, whose family had a home base in the DC area to be close to the US Department of State in downtown Washington. McGaha's mother just retired from a career with the Department of State and lives in Bethesda, Maryland. McGaha lived in the DC area for over 7 years.

Brossman has 20+ years of professional experience, 7 years with IBM and 13 years developing and operating small businesses. Mr. Brossman has successfully integrated his background in science and technology with extensive personal development training. At IBM he received the “IBM Means Service” award, the top award given for customer service. In 2000 he was honored with the NC Governor’s Volunteer of the Year Award.

McGaha has 20+ years of professional experience including a 20 year career primarily as an analyst in major organizations up and down the East Coast, spanning banking, insurance, government, higher ed, television, computer hardware and computer software. The last three years of her corporate career were in marketing communications. For the past five years McGaha has been operating her own micro businesses in publicity, copy writing, web design and social media. In 2011, she received the Guardians of Angels "Animal All Stars" award for extraordinary contributions in Social Media and Publicity.

The book, "Social Media for Business" has a mission - to help small and micro business owners compete during this difficult economic time. It was written by small and micro business owners for small and micro business owners. The book covers Social Media sites and marketing, the Internet landscape and variety of sites where business owners can expand their influence and presence, as well as the details of managing a social media marketing program.

Although published in 2011, almost all of the content remains relevant because it was an introductory book, and not focused on detailed instructions. Google+, Pinterest and Instagram were not yet on the radar strongly, and these topics are covered on the book's website.

Published by North Carolina's Outer Banks Publishing Group, the paperback book was released with a Raleigh, NC book launch at The Center for Excellence with a standing-room-only crowd in August, 2011.

The Kindle edition of Social Media for Business was released in September 2011. Readers don't have to own a Kindle to be able to download the ebook format. It is downloadable to many different phone, tablet and computer platforms. The ebook was made available across most of the ebook platforms October 1, 2011.

Online editions have the value of being instantly available and portable. If readers' reading platform has an internet connection, live hyperlinks allow readers to quickly connect with additional related resources, the authors and the contributors to the book.
