The One and Nines Are Back With Their New Single!

Sept. 22, 2011 - PRLog -- The One and Nines are an amazing band from Jersey City. In fact they are possibly the biggest local Jersey City/Hoboken band next to the Black Hollies. They sound like a group transported from 1960’s Motown era. They record all of their material directly to tape and try to abide by the recording ethics of the 60’s groups they admire. For this release they flew to Memphis to mix this single with Scott Bomar  (The Bo-Keys, Impala, Hustle & Flow). The One and Nines are meticulous about their recordings and it shows. Their debut EP has garnered a good amount of radio play both commercially and on college radio. Their newest effort is being released digitally through Mint 400 and physically on vinyl through Brooklyn’s Cotter records. This newest single, the song "Tell Me" which you can stream below, is backed with the B-side "Make It Easy" and will be available on September 27th, 2011.

The One and Nines have just finished an impressive show at Newark's "Brick City Sound Riot" where they wowed the crowd and they will follow this up with their 7" release show sometime in early October (details to be announced soon). As well The One and Nines will make their first trip to CMJ. The new single heads to college radio next month and will hopefully infatuate listeners just as their debut release has. This new single has all of the elements that have made The One and Nines a beloved band in New Jersey. From Vera Sousa's sultry vocals complimented by guitarist Jeff Marino's gritty vocal stylings to the amazing horn section and the most soulful rhythm section in the tri-state area. The One and Nines are poised to break to a wider audience with their sophomore effort.
