Sept. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Stamford, CT – Andrew J. Tabler, a Next Generation fellow in the Program on Arab Politics at the Washington Institute, will speak at the World Affairs Forum on October 12 at UCONN/Stamford. The program will begin at 5:45 P.M., with networking and refreshments, followed by the presentation at 6:15 P.M.

Mr. Tabler’s work focuses on how the United States can engage with Syria in a manner that would best advance U.S. interests. In his fourteen year residency in the region, Mr. Tabler has been the co-founder and former editor in chief of Syria Today, and editor at both the Middle East Times and Cairo Times. Mr. Tabler also served as a consultant on U.S. - Syria relations for the International Crisis Group. He has had the opportunity to interview several political figures including Syrian first lady Asma al-Asad and the late Palestinian president Yasser Arafat. His most recent publication is In the Lion's Den: An Eyewitness Account of Washington's Battle with Syria.
