By: The World Affairs Forum Mr. Tabler’s work focuses on how the United States can engage with Syria in a manner that would best advance U.S. interests. In his fourteen year residency in the region, Mr. Tabler has been the co-founder and former editor in chief of Syria Today, and editor at both the Middle East Times and Cairo Times. Mr. Tabler also served as a consultant on U.S. - Syria relations for the International Crisis Group. He has had the opportunity to interview several political figures including Syrian first lady Asma al-Asad and the late Palestinian president Yasser Arafat. His most recent publication is In the Lion's Den: An Eyewitness Account of Washington's Battle with Syria.
