Sept. 20, 2011 - PRLog -- Finance IQ: Today I’d like to talk about exit strategies, reconstruction and PE. With the predicted rise of PE exits from domestic portfolio companies and market volatility continuing, what would be the most likely exit strategies for PE firms, in your view?

J Klimecki: Looking at the local market in particular - I think it’s a very different story if you look at emerging markets internationally - I don’t think that PE exit strategies will alter a great deal. Really, flotations have usually been the least favourite exit routes and the one that was most difficult to achieve, which is particularly the case in the mid market in which we operate. So market uncertainty in the public arena just means our trade sales and secondaries, so-called pass the parcel deals, will continue to be targeted. It is often said they are corporate and have lots of cash so they’re in a position to buy if they feel an asset would be attractive and fit their strategic positioning.
