Ozics Group (www.ozics.com), a Swiss medical device startup company which develops and manufactures minimally invasive fracture fixation systems to be used in load bearing fractures, announced today that it has received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 certificate for the "design, development, manufacture and distribution of bone cements, non-active orthopaedic implants and accessories for the treatment of orthopaedic and spinal trauma." Bringing engineering, manufacturing, sales and support systems together has allowed Ozics to implement best practices and improve overall processes. The auditor from 3EC was, “impressed with the amount of work being done here and the complexity of it.”

ISO 9001:2008 is a set of quality practices that ensures the use of effective processes that are consistently monitored and continually improved. As the industry standard for quality management systems, ISO 9001:2008 certification requires evaluation by an independent, accredited auditing body.

Ozics Group’s quality review was performed by 3EC (www.3ec.sk), an international certification organization, based in Bratislava, Slovakia.
