Dr. Anton Gunn was the keynote speaker at Joining Forces for a Better Health 2011

Sept. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- On August 31st, the Joining Forces for a Better Health 2011 event, took place at the Hyatt Regency Bonaventure Hotel & Spa in the city of Weston.
The event aimed to create awareness about everyone responsibility of fighting childhood obesity, as a national growing problem. Dr. Anton Gunn, Regional Director from the US Department of Health & Human Services was the keynote speaker in representation of the US Surgeon General, Vice Admiral Dr. Regina Benjamin and gave to attendants information from a nationwide perspective. In the same way, Dr. Lillian Rivera, Administrator from the Miami-Dade County Health Department, was the remark speaker in representation of the Florida State Surgeon General, Dr. Frank Farmer; she gave to the audience a Florida State perspective of the problem focusing in some actions and suggestions about solving this problem.

The event counted with the participation of healthcare organizations from Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties as well as a massive public tri-county representation.
