Sept. 6, 2011 - PRLog -- DBx GEOMATICS proudly announces the availability of the mapping application conceived by UNICEF for the Asia-Pacific Prevention of Parent to Child Transmission (PPTCT) Task Force. The website was launched at the 10th international Congress on AIDS in Busan, South Korea last weekend. To have a look at the interactive maps, go to: www.aidsdatahub.org/regional-profiles/pptct.

This CartoVista™ application is fully integrated within the other features of the Parents-to-Child-Transmission (PPTCT) Task Force website, currently hosted by the HIV and AIDS Data Hub. The PPTCT’s platform advocates for global and regional commitment towards the elimination of pediatric HIV and congenital syphilis by 2015.

The PPTCT Task Force decided to use the CartoVista solution to publish predefined interactive maps and quickly implement dashboards with the solution’s Software Developer Kit. The numerous options for thematic data representation provide a great opportunity for the organization to easily give access to multiple sources of data and strategic information for a wide array of stakeholders.

Using CartoVista, the PPTCT Task Force website showcases country factsheets and regional analysis on various aspects of HIV, Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) such as HIV estimations, infant feeding policy or access to MCH services. The application will regularly be enhanced with new key data, as well as graphs, dashboards and charts in support of PPTCT and strengthening maternal and child health care.

The HIV and AIDS Data Hub for Asia Pacific is sponsored by UNICEF, ADB, and UNAIDS with the goal to strengthen evidence-based action in policy, advocacy, strategic planning and resource mobilization towards universal access to HIV and AIDS prevention, treatment and care in the Asia-Pacific region.

“With this brand new mapping application, CartoVista truly shows its interactive capabilities to share online statistics and we are very excited to be able to take part in assisting humanitarian projects around the globe”, says Dany Bouchard, President of DBx GEOMATICS.
