Castle Creek Press Publications releases e-book 'Social Mastery Made Simple' on Amazon.com

Sept. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- Castle Creek Press Publications recently released 'Social Mastery Made Simple' . The California based e-publisher released  the book on Kindle August 11, 2011. It is a comprehensive social skills program designed especially for children and adolescents with learning disabilities.

Many times, children and adolescents with learning disabilities also struggle with social challenges as well. Such children often sit on the sidelines of life, due to the fact that social skills are not taught in most educational settings, including special education classrooms.

Many children learn social skills much as a baby will eventually learn to speak without being taught. Many other children do not learn these skills naturally. They must be taught what they need to know. Such programs are almost non existent in spite of the fact that excellent diagnostic tests are available that pinpoint common learning disabilities. Most parents and teachers that teach such students are well aware that social skill deficits also accompany such learning problems.

Skill set titles include, 'The Fourteen Silent Ways of Communicating', 'Lessons in Non-Literal Language', 'Conversation Instruction', 'How Friends are Made, How They are Kept', 'Unspoken Rules', and a last skill set, 'Social Ketchup' (pun for catch-up), which teaches material often needed by unknowing students, such as 'Motives', 'Authority', and 'Being Equal'.

In addition, the author, Devra Ryker, wrote the text at a lower grade school level. The text is directed at the student, with additional notes in each skill set for a parent or teacher who may be socially coaching the student or teaching the program in a classroom setting.

The author spent five years designing the program while teaching and coaching the program to her LD son. The results are detailed in the books introduction with information detailing before and after results.

'Social Mastery Made Simple'  is also suitable for any child or adolescent with social skill deficits. A print version of the book is currently pending.
